Reflex

"Then, towards the end, there is a juggling scene both witty and skilled. It involves a sort-of-conversation between Jay Gilligan (who makes clubs, balls, do his dazzling will) and the drummer (Erik Nilsson, who has rhythmic genius, responding dazzlingly). I thought them great fun, and the best reason for going to the Peacock Theatre." (Financial Times)

Reflex captures the future of juggling art performance with real juggling. Reflex is not a video game, it is really happening in the moment. This long form improvisation drives the two artists two physical and mental exhaustion. The audience is taken along on the ride, living vicariously through the players, who perform until they cannot go any longer.

It is through the split second solutions, fixing the problems caused by natural flaws, that a strange humanity emerges from the spectacular technique. The show creates an environment in which anything is possible and its purpose is to continue building, transforming itself into an experience that is unique and un predictable.

Jay Gilligan and Erik Nilsson bring over 40 years combined performing experience to the stage - on tour since they were able to tie their shoes. They have performed in 26 different countries. Jay has earned the most gold medals ever awarded byt the International Jugglers´Association and held two previous Guiness World of records for juggling. Erik holds a Masters Degree of Fine Arts from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

In May 2010 Reflex are doing their first swedish tour in collaboration with Riksteatern.
